Plateful ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Plateful meal-planning application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you create an account, generate AI recipes, plan meals, build grocery lists, save favorites, and use our other features.

Plateful is owned and operated by GENIELAB LLC, a company based in Naperville, Illinois, United States. GENIELAB LLC is responsible for the Service and all business operations related to Plateful.

By creating an account or using Plateful, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Account information: When you register with your email address, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google as part of the sign-in process.

Content you create: Plateful stores the recipes, meal ideas, weekly meal plans, grocery lists, favorites, family member profiles, pantry items, meal ratings, cooking notes, traditions, and lunchbox ideas you create. This content is associated with your account so you can access and manage it.

Usage and analytics data: We collect anonymous analytics events (such as which features you use and how often) to improve the Service.

Device and browser data: We may collect limited technical information such as browser type and device settings. Preferences like your theme choice and Read Aloud voice settings are stored locally on your device.

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions.
• Generate AI-powered recipes, meal plans, and lunchbox ideas based on your preferences.
• Store and display your recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, favorites, family profiles, and pantry.
• Provide cooking guidance, including Read Aloud and cooking videos.
• Analyze usage to improve and personalize the Service.
• Communicate with you about your account and respond to support and data-deletion requests.

Plateful uses artificial intelligence to generate recipes, meal plans, and lunchbox ideas. When you request a suggestion, the information you provide (such as cuisine, dietary preferences, ingredients, and family needs) is sent to our AI providers for processing. The generated content is then stored in your account. Avoid including sensitive personal information in recipe requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as necessary to operate the Service:

• Google: Used for Google sign-in. Google may share your basic profile information (name and email) when you choose this option. Google's use of your data is governed by Google's privacy policy.
• AI providers: Receive your recipe and preference inputs to generate suggestions.
• YouTube: Cooking videos are retrieved from YouTube; video playback is subject to YouTube's terms and privacy practices.
• Analytics providers: Process anonymous usage events to help us improve.

Plateful uses cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your theme, and save your Read Aloud preferences. See our Cookie Policy for details.

We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your account and associated data in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can update your recipes, meal plans, and other content directly within the app. For account-level requests, contact us at support@platefuls.org.

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Danger zone, or by contacting us at support@platefuls.org. We will process verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information using industry-standard practices. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Plateful is designed for families and adults managing household meals. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). Family member profiles are created and managed by the account holder, not by the children themselves.

If you access Plateful from outside the region where we operate, your information may be transferred to and processed in that region. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date or through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
